Set discreetly within the Gleneagles estate, Restaurant Andrew Fairlie has held two Michelin stars since 2006 and keeps its own walled garden for the kitchen. The style is precise but unshowy, built on the best of Scottish produce. Perthshire opens out beyond the doors, with the medieval Tullibardine Chapel close by and Innerpeffray Castle a short drive north for a fuller day.
