Waterloo Park began life in 1904 as the Catton recreation ground, then was completely redesigned in the early 1930s by Norwich’s long-serving parks superintendent, Captain Sandys-Winsch, and reopened under its current name in 1933. It’s Grade II* listed and largely unchanged since — grass tennis courts, bowling greens, a bandstand and a play area within its 18 acres. Free to walk into, open until dusk. Norwich station is about 2km away.
