Kew is the flagship site of the Royal Botanic Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site covering some 330 acres beside the Thames, with over 50,000 species growing across it and the world’s largest seed conservation project based here. The Victorian Palm House and the Treetop Walkway are among the highlights, alongside the Temperate House, the largest surviving Victorian glasshouse anywhere. Open daily, ticketed; Richmond Park and Ham House both make an easy add-on if you’re spending the day in this stretch of London.
