Marble Hill is a small Palladian villa built in the 1720s for Henrietta Howard, mistress to the future George II, with input from the poet Alexander Pope and the architect Roger Morris. English Heritage spent two and a half years restoring it, reopening in 2022 with refreshed Georgian interiors and its pleasure garden reinstated. Entry is free but ticketed, Wednesday to Sunday, and the riverside park is open beyond that for a wander down to the Thames. St Margarets station is a short walk away.
