Richmond Terrace Walk is a tree-lined promenade laid out around 1700 along the top of Richmond Hill, known for the sweep of the Thames it looks down on — a view painters and poets have returned to for three centuries. It runs into Terrace Gardens, both free to walk at any time. A viewing panel at the top helps pick out landmarks, said to stretch as far as Windsor Castle. The Thames Path and Capital Ring both pass close by.
