Three gardens from three centuries sit on one estate above Taunton. The set piece is the Edwardian formal garden of 1904–08, an early Lutyens and Jekyll collaboration with stone rills, a pergola and colour borders replanted from Jekyll’s own recovered plans. Behind the house a Georgian landscape garden by Coplestone Warre Bampfylde winds past lakes and a folly cascade. Paid entry; Taunton station is about 4km southwest.
