Crarae is a ravine garden on the shore of Loch Fyne, planted to feel like a Himalayan hillside, with rhododendrons and exotic trees climbing beside a tumbling burn. The National Trust for Scotland runs it, and it’s open year-round with an admission charge. You’ll find it near Minard on the A83, south of Inveraray.
