An independent girls’ school now occupies Cobham Hall, a brick Elizabethan mansion of around 1584 set in parkland that Humphry Repton reworked with veteran trees and wildflower meadows. Outside term time, the school opens the house for a run of Sunday tours through the year, and the grounds have their own National Garden Scheme day at Easter for the spring bulbs. Tickets are bought on the door, no need to book ahead. St Mary Magdalene church sits just west of the park.
