Bunhill Fields Burial Ground
Open accessfree to visit at any reasonable time
Bunhill Fields was a burial ground for Nonconformists barred from parish churchyards, in use from the 1660s until it closed to new burials in 1854. William Blake, John Bunyan and Daniel Defoe are all buried here, among the plane trees the City of London Corporation now tends as a public garden. Free to enter every day, with shorter hours in winter. Old Street station is a couple of minutes’ walk, and Regent’s Canal is close by too.
