Basildon Park is a golden Bath-stone Palladian mansion above the Thames near Pangbourne, built in the 1770s to designs by John Carr of York. Left near-derelict, it was rescued in 1952 by Lord and Lady Iliffe, who restored the interiors and handed house and park to the National Trust in 1978. The rooms have since stood in for Netherfield in the 2005 Pride and Prejudice. Ticketed, with open walks through the parkland.
