St Mary’s Church at Aldworth holds the ‘Aldworth Giants’ — a set of larger-than-life medieval effigies of the de la Beche family, carved in the 14th century. The village around it is a quiet spread of downland lanes, with the old Bell Inn by the green. Goring & Streatley station is about 5km east.
