Selwyn’s is a long-standing seafood producer on the north Gower coast, gathering cockles from the Burry Inlet sands off Penclawdd and Crofty and making traditional laverbread from boiled laver seaweed. Cockle-picking here goes back to at least Roman times, once done by hand with donkey carts. There’s a shop alongside the wholesale trade. Bynea station is about 5km to the north-east.
