The Johnson family have pressed fruit at Broome Farm, Peterstow, since the 1930s, and Mike and his son Albert now grow well over a hundred varieties for whole-juice cider and perry. The range runs to dozens of bottlings that change often, and the orchards are open to visit in summer, with a simple campsite among the trees. They also keep the Yew Tree pub nearby. It was named best drinks producer at the 2019 BBC Food & Farming Awards.
