Nyetimber is one of England’s best-known sparkling-wine estates, near West Chiltington, and helped pioneer the modern English style when it planted classic Champagne grape varieties here in 1988. The estate is a private working vineyard for most of the year and opens to visitors only on occasional advertised days, so book ahead rather than turning up. Pulborough station is about 4km to the west.
