Founded in 1790, Balblair is one of the oldest working distilleries in the Highlands, sat at Edderton on the Dornoch Firth just off the A9. There’s a visitor centre in the old malting building and regular tours of the stills. It’s a short hop from Tain, whose station is about 8km east.
