St Nicholas at Chawton stands beside the manor in the village where Jane Austen spent her last years. The present church is Victorian, rebuilt after a fire, but in the churchyard lie her mother and her sister, both named Cassandra Austen. It’s a short walk from Chawton House and the Jane Austen’s House museum. Usually open. Alton station is about 3km north-east.
