St Mary Magdalene stands almost on the bank of the Thames near Eton, a small flint-and-chalk chapel built in the 12th century to serve the bargemen who once worked this stretch of river. It still keeps a massive tub font from that time. Declared redundant in 1975 and saved by the Friends of Friendless Churches, it’s now kept open and reachable on foot from the towpath near Dorney. Windsor & Eton Central station is under 3km to the east.
