Frogmore House has been a royal retreat tucked into Windsor’s Home Park since Queen Charlotte bought it in 1792, with landscaped gardens, a lake, and the royal mausolea where Victoria and Albert are buried. It’s usually closed to the public, but opens for a handful of charity open days each summer, when you can walk the gardens and buy a separate ticket to see inside the house. Windsor Castle is a short walk north-west.
