Like the church at Applecross, St Maelrubha’s at Poolewe carries the name of the saint who founded the Applecross monastery in the 7th century — a reminder of how far his cult spread across Wester Ross. The church stands above the short River Ewe in the village of Poolewe, on the A832 coast road near Inverewe.
