A motte-and-bailey castle once stood here — today it survives as earthworks in Hampshire. It is one of two motte-and-bailey castles the Albion Guide lists in the county. The surrounding countryside is part of the North Wessex Downs National Landscape. Basingstoke Station is 5.9 km away to the south-east.
