Singing Sands (Gortenfern)
Local highlightThe Singing Sands at Gortenfern take their name from the noise the dry sand makes underfoot on a good day. Getting there is half the point: a couple of kilometres on foot through woods and moor from Kentra, near Acharacle. It’s genuinely remote and all the better for it, so wear decent footwear and keep an eye on the tide.
