Jagged folded rock strata on wild coast.
The cliffs at Hartland Quay stand almost on end, folded and buckled into zigzags, dropping to a shore where a stone harbour once stood before storms wrecked it. What’s left is a hotel, a small museum and some of the finest geology on the Atlantic coast. It’s a short drive or walk down from Hartland village. The waves here draw storm-watchers when the weather turns wild.
