A single powerful chute on the River Falloch in Glen Falloch, dropping into a deep dark pool a short walk from the road
Approximate location — this spot is pinned to the nearest village, so the exact point may be a little way off.
Glen Falloch runs north from Loch Lomond towards Crianlarich, and partway up it the River Falloch narrows and drops in one strong chute into a deep, dark pool. It’s a short, easy walk from the roadside car park, with a platform above the fall to look down from. The pool is sometimes called Rob Roy’s Bathtub, after the MacGregor outlaw whose country this was. The West Highland Way passes right alongside, so plenty of walkers on the long route between Milngavie and Fort William break their day here. The falls sit within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs national park, and run hardest after rain.
