Ripley is a long village on the old Portsmouth coaching road, which made it a famous destination for Victorian cyclists riding out from London. These days the high street is better known for its restaurants, and there’s a wide green at one end. RHS Garden Wisley is a couple of miles north. Clandon station is about 4km south.
