Thatched cottages huddle at Porlock below the moor, at the foot of Porlock Hill — a notoriously steep climb that tests car and cyclist alike. A lane runs down to Porlock Weir, a small pebble-banked harbour on the bay. The village is open to wander, with shops and inns along the main street.
