Horner Wood fills a steep valley below Dunkery on Exmoor, one of Britain’s largest surviving Atlantic oakwoods — old, moss-hung trees crossed by packhorse bridges and a tumbling stream. Paths wind through it from Horner hamlet, and it’s National Trust open access. The wood is known for its lichens and rare bats. Dunkery Beacon rises directly above.
