Outwood is a small village on the edge of a Weald common, best known for its windmill. The post mill was built in 1665 and is reckoned the oldest working windmill in England, though it has been closed to visitors since gales damaged it in 2012 and 2013. The nearest station is Salfords, about 4km west.
