Godstone is a village set round a large green and pond in the clay vale below the Downs, with a couple of old coaching inns. The lakes and farm of a country park lie just to the east. Godstone station is slightly misleadingly named, sitting about 4km south at South Godstone on the Redhill–Tonbridge line.
