Bletchingley runs along a broad ridge-top high street lined with timber-framed and tile-hung houses. It was once a rotten borough, returning two MPs despite its small size, and the earthworks of its Norman castle survive at the west end. Nutfield station is about 3km south-west, with Redhill a little further for faster London trains.
