Forfar is the Angus county town, an unfussy market place best known for the Forfar bridie — a folded meat pastry you’ll find warm in the bakers here. The Meffan on the High Street is the town’s museum and gallery, covering local history and art. It sits inland and off the rail network, so if you’re arriving by train the nearest stations are down on the coast at Monifieth or Arbroath.
