Cranborne is a red-brick and flint village on the edge of Cranborne Chase, once a royal hunting ground. At its heart is Cranborne Manor, a Jacobean house remodelled for the Cecil family in the early 1600s, whose garden centre and grounds open to visitors on set days. The medieval parish church stands close by.
