Great Hangman is England’s highest sea cliff, a hog-backed headland rising 318 metres above the water east of Combe Martin. It’s also the highest point on the entire South West Coast Path, topped by a cairn with long views along the Exmoor coast. The climb up from Combe Martin is a steady 3.5-mile round walk on the coast path. Barnstaple is the nearest railhead.
