Built in 1792, this graceful single-arched stone bridge carries the B844 across the narrow Clachan Sound to the island of Seil, and it’s long been nicknamed the “Bridge over the Atlantic”. The high hump was designed to let sailing boats pass beneath. It’s a quick and easy stop about 12km south-west of Oban, and just over the water are the slate villages of Ellenabeich and Easdale.
