A small, carefully made 1930s garden tucked below the old slate quarry cliffs at Ellenabeich on the Isle of Seil. An Cala is all streams, azaleas and cherry blossom on a compact plot, and looks gorgeous in spring. It opens seasonally, so check the dates before you go. Oban is about 17km back up the road.
