Hermaness is the great seabird headland at the very top of Unst, close to Britain’s northernmost point of land. A boardwalk and moorland path lead out across the reserve — mind the dive-bombing great skuas, or “bonxies” — to clifftops crowded with gannets and puffins. From the edge you look straight out to Muckle Flugga lighthouse and the last rocks of Britain. Open access from the reserve car park.
