The Sands of Breckon is a sheltered white-sand beach at the north end of Yell, backed by dunes, with a sea cave at low tide and traces of ancient settlement in the machair. Reaching it means the inter-island ferry over to Yell and a drive north — but it’s one of the island’s real gems, and you may well have it to yourself.
