The Sun Inn is one of England’s last true parlour alehouses, a brick-floored room where the beer is still fetched from the cellar, now backed by a sympathetic modern extension. Real ales and an August beer festival keep it firmly a drinkers’ pub. It sits on the Herefordshire Trail, and makes a fine reward after exploring the ruins of Wigmore Castle to the south.
