The Ship Inn faces the bay at Newbiggin-by-the-Sea, a popular stop along what’s said to be the county’s longest promenade. A decent seaside pub for a pint with a sea view, handy after a walk out to see Sean Henry’s Couple sculpture standing offshore on its breakwater. Ashington station is about 4km west.
