Rising sharply above the shore of Loch Mullardoch, Sgurr na Lapaich is a proper pointed peak rather than a rounded lump, and at 1,152m it’s the highest of the hills between Glen Cannich and Glen Strathfarrar. Like every Munro it tops 3,000 feet, and with 841m of drop it makes a bold, freestanding shape. The usual line climbs the long south ridge up from the Mullardoch dam, often paired with An Riabhachan along the high ridge to the west. This is wild, roadless country north of Glen Affric, and a long day out however you tackle it.
