Wellington Park is a small Edwardian park laid out to mark Edward VII’s coronation, opened in 1903 and designed by F. W. Meyer of the Exeter nursery Veitch & Sons. It’s a neat, formal space with a ha-ha, bandstand and ornamental pond, restored with Heritage Lottery money in 2000 and holding Green Flag status ever since. Free to enter, with a lively summer events programme run by the Friends of the park.
