Great Comp is a seven-acre plantsman’s garden near Borough Green, wound through with mock ruins and folly walls its owners built by hand. It holds one of Europe’s largest salvia collections, at its best from summer into autumn, and hosts a chamber-music festival in the house through the season. Open April to November, paid entry. Borough Green & Wrotham station is about 2km west.
