Canna House holds the Gaelic folklore archive gathered by John Lorne Campbell and his wife Margaret Fay Shaw — recordings, songs and manuscripts built up over decades on the island. Campbell gave Canna to the National Trust for Scotland in 1981, and the house reopened in 2025 after a long restoration. Canna is reached by CalMac ferry from Mallaig, and it’s a short walk up from the harbour.
