Small but much loved, Branklyn is a hillside garden on the Kinnoull side of Perth, run by the National Trust for Scotland. It holds national collections of Meconopsis, the blue Himalayan poppy, and Cassiope, along with a fine spread of alpines and rhododendrons packed into not much more than an acre. Open spring to autumn with an admission charge; Perth station is about a mile and a half west.
