Aske Hall has been the Dundas family’s Yorkshire home, as Marquesses of Zetland, since 1763, its park shaped with help from Capability Brown and dotted with follies, including a Gothick eyecatcher above Lowe Wood. The Georgian house opens for a handful of guided tours each September as part of Heritage Open Days, which tend to book up well ahead, plus occasional free guided walks around the wider estate. Otherwise the grounds are private, though the park can be glimpsed from footpaths near Richmond.
