A cruciform church a few miles north of Ludlow, St Peter’s keeps clear Saxon stonework in its walls, including the thin pilaster strips of pre-Norman building on the nave and north transept. There was a church here around 1050, and probably one long before that. The chancel and tower came later, in the medieval centuries. It’s open to visitors; Ludlow station is about 4km to the south-east.
