St John the Evangelist at Piddinghoe has one of only three round Norman towers in Sussex, above the Ouse valley. On top sits a gilded fish weathervane that Kipling turned into a dolphin in one of his poems. Usually open in the day. Newhaven Town station is about 2km to the south-east.
