A small church on the moor edge at Edmundbyers, near the head of Derwent Reservoir. St Edmund’s is largely a twelfth-century building, though there’s older, pre-Norman stonework worked into the fabric. It’s a quiet corner of the North Pennines, well off the railway, but a good pause if you’re walking or driving round the reservoir. You’ll want a car to get here.
