Rug Chapel looks plain from outside, a gabled box of 1637, but the inside is the surprise: a painted and carved timber ceiling, angels and roses worked into the roof, and a skeleton painted on one wall as a memento mori. Colonel William Salusbury built it as a private chapel near Corwen. It’s a Cadw site with an entry charge, open seasonally, and shares a joint ticket with Llangar Old Parish Church nearby.
