Vast surf beach backed by Braunton Burrows.
Saunton Sands is a vast flat beach that runs for around three miles along Bideford Bay, backed by the great dune system of Braunton Burrows behind it. The gentle break makes it a favourite with learner surfers, and there’s room to walk well clear of the crowds at low tide. A hotel and café sit above the southern end. Braunton and Croyde are both close by.
