Remote pink-sand bay with sea stack.
Often named the finest beach in Britain, Sandwood Bay is a mile of pink-tinged sand backed by dunes and a freshwater loch, with the sea stack Am Buachaille standing off its southern end. Getting there is the whole point: a four-mile walk in from the car park at Blairmore, and four back, across John Muir Trust moorland. There are no facilities, the Atlantic swell is a serious one, and the only way out is the way you came in — but few beaches feel this wild.
